<p>A front-loaded washing machine has a circular hatch whose inner face is separated from the fixed drum housing flange by a flexible ring seal. The ring seal has an essentially S-shaped cross with internal bracing section consisting of a pairs of cups, each individual pair linked by a transverse member. The internal members stabilize the seal flanks against their respective faces under sheer stress caused by operation of the washing machine.</p> |
