PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission control device for actualizing safe travel control by defining a range position in starting. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission control device comprises a failure determining means for determining a failure of a shift range detecting means, and a range defining means for directing a parking range to be operated and defining the shift of a range selector valve to the parking range when the shift to the parking range is shown if the failure of the shift range detecting means is determined by the failure determining means at starting an automatic transmission.
