The apparatus comprises an 'A' frame trailer 1 resting on a wheeled axle 2 with two evenly spaced supports 6, 7 fixed to its upper surface. Attached to the topmost support 6 is a ratchet and strap 11 which, when the apparatus is stood on end, is employed to enclose, and then to grip tightly a suitable positioned 'round' or cylindrical bale. The bale may comprise vegetative material used for animal feed or bedding. The apparatus, including the bale to be towed, is then returned to the horizontal (figure 4) in a controlled fashion and attached to a suitable towing vehicle by means of a ball hitch 4. A sprung safety device 9 (see also figures 2b and 5) may be pushed into the bale and retained in place whilst the strap is being placed around the bale, thus preventing the trailer from toppling backwards. |
