The chair can be of any suitable design with four legs (12), a seat (16) and a backrest (18). A metal pipe guided horizontally across the lower surface of the seat (16) is bent in a right angle forming a vertical segment (22a). The pipe (22) is bent again into a horizontal position (22b) in order to carry a particularly large tray (24) suitable for holding an electronic notebook. The segment (22b) is guided in a slightly diagonal position across the lower surface of the tray (24). The longitudinal axis of the seat (16) and the upper section of the pipe (22b) are positioned in an acute angle.
