A method and an apparatus for providing SI by using a query and view in a digital data broadcast receiver are provided to offer view composed of supplementary information in an object, thereby providing various types of data to an application program and a user. A method for providing SI(Service Information) by using a query and view in a digital data broadcast receiver comprises the following steps of: receiving a query from an application program in middleware(S10); searching for SI DB with the received query to generate SI view(S20); transmitting the generated SI view to the application program(S30); and converting low-level data about a corresponding object into high-level data and providing the converted data to the application program in the middleware(S40).
