COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING HOLLYHOCK EXTRACTS

A cosmetic composition containing hollyhock extract is provided to improve effects on skin-moisturizing, cell growth promotion, anti-inflammation, anti-itching and anti-atopy and inhibit skin irritation, so that the composition is useful for improving and preventing various inflammatory skin troubles and strengthening the skin barrier function. A cosmetic composition for improving and preventing various inflammatory skin troubles contains 0.01-10 wt.% of hollyhock extract which is prepared by drying hollyhock and extracting the dried hollyhock with solvent at 30-70 deg. C for 4-48 hours or depositing hollyhock at 5-40 deg. C for 1-15 days to extract mucous ingredients, and precipitating the mucous ingredients with solvent, and is formulated as soft lotion, nutrition lotion, nutrition cream, massage cream, essence or pack, wherein the solvent is selected from water, phosphate buffer, weak basic solution, glycerin, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and 1,3-butylene glycol.
