The method involves exclusively supplying nitrogen to a client by vaporization of liquid nitrogen when the need of the client for gaseous nitrogen is less than threshold. The nitrogen is supplied to the client by a gaseous nitrogen producing apparatus when the need of the client for gaseous nitrogen is greater than another threshold, where the latter threshold is greater than the former threshold. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for supplying nitrogen.
