COMPUTER AND POWER SUPPLY METHOD THEREOF

A computer and a power supply method thereof are provided to prevent loss of information without any auxiliary power supply device and increase efficiency of power usage by transforming heat generated from information processing into energy with a thermoelectric device and storing the information with the transformed energy. An information processor(10) processes information and a storing part(20) has a storage space for storing the processed information. A main power supply unit(30) supplies power to the information processor. A sub power supply unit(40) includes a thermoelectric device(42) transforming heat generated from a computer into sub power. A controller(60) enables the information processor to store the processed information to the storing part by supplying the sub power to the information processor and the storing part when cutoff of the power supplied from the main power supply unit is detected. The controller stops operation of a fan(54) and switches the computer into a power saving mode when the cutoff is detected.
