The clutch (1) has an inlet bell (14), an outlet bell (16), and a set of clutch plates (D1) integrated in rotation to one of the bells. A connection unit (18) is integrated in rotation and axially mounted with respect to the other bell. A pressurization unit (20) hooks another set of clutch plates (D2) against the former set of clutch plates. A declutching unit (22) separates the latter set of clutch plates from the former set of clutch plates, and has a spring (48) progressive opposing action of the pressurization unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for declutching a multidisc clutch.
