PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device for a vehicle capable of completing initialization of a memory until the electronic control device is started by a main switch even if data destruction occurs in the memory while the electronic control device is not used. SOLUTION: An ECU 1 for EFI is provided with a microcomputer 10, a standby part 28 for changing the microcomputer 10 to a standby mode, a return starting part 26 for returning the microcomputer 10 from the standby mode and starting the microcomputer 10 based on a door lock release detection signal output from a door lock ECU 8, a data RAM 24 for storing data used for control processing, and an EEPROM 15 for storing initialization data of the data RAM 24. The ECU 1 for EFI is further provided with an RAM initial preparation part 25 for initializing the data RAM 24 based on the data stored in the EEPROM 15, when initialization of the data RAM 24 is required at start of the microcomputer 10.
