A method and a device for managing files, and an information storage medium storing the files are provided to enable a user to access the desired file easily and classify/manage a large number of media files efficiently without memorizing each folder structure. A file input unit(220) receives new files to be stored. A storing part(250) stores at least one file(110) including tag information and tag structure information(120) integrating the tag information included in the files. A controller(230) determines whether the tag information included in the received file is a subset of the tag structure information stored in the storing part. The controller updates the tag information or the tag structure information to get the tag information of the new file to be the subset and stores the new file to the storing part when the tag information of the new file is not the subset of the tag structure information. The controller integrates the new tag information to the tag structure information when the tag information of the new file includes a tag not found in the tag structure information.
