A spot welding machine for a nut having a cooling water overheating prevention unit is provided to have uniform torque resistivity after a base material and a nut are welded by efficiently controlling cooling water to make the cooling of electrode uniform. A spot welding machine for a nut having a cooling water overheating prevention unit comprises: a lower electrode assembly(90) and an upper electrode assembly for applying voltage; a cooling water supply part supplying cooling water for cooling the welding heat of the upper and lower electrode assemblies; and a nut feeding unit which automatically supplies nut to a nut mounted part of the base material. The lower electrode assembly comprises: a hollow lower shank(80) in which a cooling water pipe passes through a core part; a lower electrode(50) having a first screw part(53), a tapered part(52) and a finished part; an electrode tip(70) screwed in the lower electrode; a hanging piece(60) positioning the nut; and a first spring(57) supporting the lower surface of the hanging piece.
