A method for transferring encoded data and an image pickup device performing the method are provided to enable a data output unit to output the compressed data of a frame to a receiving terminal as an encoded data type, thereby suppressing power consumption caused by switching a writing enable signal of a memory in the receiving terminal. An image pickup device comprises an image sensor(110), an image signal processor(400), and a backend chip(405). The image signal processor comprises a pre-processing unit(410), an encoding unit(420), and a data output unit(430). The encoding unit encodes image data corresponding to an electric signal inputted from the image sensor by a preset encoding method to generate encoded image data. The data output unit outputs the encoded image data, successively inputted from the encoding unit by frame, to a receiving terminal. When the outputted encoded data is abnormal, a determination signal corresponding to the abnormal encoded data is outputted to the receiving terminal by the data output unit. |
