IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, IMAGE PROCESSOR, IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM WITH THE PROGRAM RECORDED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for accurately detecting an object, and for surely protecting it when illuminating circumstances change, and an object in an image temporarily stops even when protecting the privacy of the object photographed by a fixed image pickup device.

SOLUTION: This image processor is provided with a first storage means for storing the estimated image of a background image, and configured to evaluate a difference between an input image and an estimated background image to extract the image section of the object. Even when it is impossible to extract the image section of the object, the input image is registered in a second storage means as a reference background image, and when the image section is extracted, the estimated background image stored in the first storage means is updated based on the input image and the estimated background image stored in the first storage means and the reference background image stored in the second storage means so that the background image stored in the first storage means is regarded as a current image. Then, image conversion for privacy protection is applied to the extracted image section of the object.
