PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent recovering apparatus, by which approximately all the solvent contained in a sewage used for washing can be separated and collected efficiently within a short time. SOLUTION: A solvent recovering apparatus 10 is provided with a sewage storage tank 20, a screw 21, and means for heating a sewage, which is composed so that a rotary shaft 21b is supported by a bearing at the upper part of the sewage storage tank 20 and the lower end is not brought into contact with the bottom part of the sewage storage tank 20. The above helical blades 21a are successively formed into the helical direction along the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft 21b over the tilted surface. The screw 21 is composed so that the sewage A is continuously brought above the slope of the helical blade 21a that is exposed above the sewage surface and thus is developed almost homogenously in the form of thin film. The means for heating sewage is composed so as to heat the entire sewage A stored in the sewage tank 20 to temperatures at which a solvent C contained in the sewage A is evaporated and vaporized.
