PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit wherein the inscribing direction of display contents can be switched between vertical and horizontal directions, and an optical disk device equipped with it. SOLUTION: This display unit loaded in an electronic apparatus which can be vertically and horizontally placed is equipped with a display means, a flexible printed board electrically connected to the display means, a display means holder to fix and hold the display means in its inside, and the casing of the electronic apparatus.
