<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a developing device of a touch-down development system, which can obtain stable images while suppressing toner from splashing and maintaining stable development characteristic for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having the developing device of the touch-down development system, a toner recovery roller 14 for recovering toner scattering and floating near a toner carrier 2 and a two-component developer carrier 1 is disposed downstream of the area where the two-component developer carrier and toner carrier are closest to each other in the rotating direction of the two-component developer carrier, and between the two-component developer carrier and the wall of a housing. If the DUTY ratio of the AC bias voltage of a development bias applied to the two-component developer carrier is≤50%, an AC bias voltage the frequency of which is n times (n is an integer of≥2 ) that of the frequency of an AC bias applied to the two-component developer carrier and is≤15 kHz is applied to the toner recovery roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
