PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera module capable of ensuring sufficient driving force for a holder, even in a compact camera module. SOLUTION: The camera module includes a lens unit constituting the optical system of the camera module; a cylindrical holder 9 accommodating a lens unit and movable along the optical axis of the camera module; a coil 8 attached to the holder 9; a yoke 6 for supplying a magnetic field to the coil 8 and eight first and second magnets 7a and 7b in the form of a flat plate; an upper plate spring 5 and a lower plate spring 11 supporting the holder 9; and a base 12 supporting the yoke 6, first and second magnets 7a and 7b, and plate springs 5 and 11. The horizontal sectional shape of the coil 8 is octagonal, and the eight pieces of first and second magnets 7a and 7b are disposed on the outside so as to face the edges of the coil 8.
