PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle device which starts to move a display portion at a storing position in an instrument panel to a use position outside the panel, when a vehicle can travel backward after the getting-onto the vehicle of an occupant is detected.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle device has a display portion displaying an image, and display controlling means which displays a shooting image around a vehicle by an on-vehicle camera on the display portion. The on-vehicle device includes: getting-on detection means for detecting the getting onto a driver's seat of a vehicle; backward traveling possibility detecting means for detecting whether the vehicle is at a position capable of traveling backward or nor; a display portion moving mechanism which moves the display portion between a storing position in the instrument panel and a use position outside the instrument panel; and display portion movement control means for moving the display portion from the storing position to the use position by the display portion moving mechanism, when the getting-on detecting means detects the getting-onto the driver's seat of the vehicle and the backward traveling possibility detecting means detects that the vehicle is at a position capable of traveling backward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
