PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which achieves C-folding which a user intends without user's detailed setting for solving the problem that the user needs to designate a rotation angle and a scaling factor in accordance with output paper or a document when performing C-folding using a finisher capable of C-folding and cannot obtain his/her intended output by mistaking setting contents. SOLUTION: The size and the direction of the document are discriminated, and an image is rotated at such an angle as to match the output paper. In this case, the rotation angle is so set that an upper side position of the input document in an output result is an identical position in any output pattern. In the case that the document size is not equal to the output paper size, the image is enlarged or reduced by a proper scaling factor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
