PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high supercharging and large quantity EGR in a wide operation range for exhaust emission control and the improvement of an output and fuel economy in a multiple-cylinder engine provided with a turbocharger. SOLUTION: This multiple cylinder engine is provided with; exhaust manifolds 9a, 9b divided into cylinder groups in which exhaust strokes do not overlap; an exhaust system ejector 23 having a downstream part of each exhaust manifold formed in a shape narrowing toward a turbine inlet of a turbocharger; intake manifolds 3a, 3b divided into cylinder groups in which intake strokes do not overlap, an EGR passage 36 connecting a turbine upstream and a compressor downstream of the turbocharger; a check valve 29 arranged downstream of an EGR valve in the EGR passage; and an intake system ejector 40 having a middle part of an intake manifold and an outlet part of the EGR passage formed in a shape narrowing toward a merging part.
