PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform tracking by estimating the position of an RF tag to be carried by an object to be monitored. SOLUTION: When ad hoc sensors 2(4), 2(3), in a monitoring area A determine that the amplitude of a stipulated frequency component in the transmission radio wave of an active tag 1(n) exceeds reference amplitude in the ad hoc network 100, the reception results are respectively transmitted to a center computer 3 by ad hoc communication. The center computer 3 presents the reception results from the respective ad hoc sensors 2(4), 2(3) to an operator. The operator compares the presented reception results, and estimates the arrangement place of the ad hoc sensor 2(4), receiving the radio wave with the largest amplitude, as the position of the active tag 1(n).
