PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump unit suitable for use as a motor cooling electric pump of a hybrid vehicle and attaining cost reduction and miniaturization. SOLUTION: The pump unit comprises a housing 2, a rotary shaft 3 disposed in the housing 2, a motor 4 for rotating the rotary shaft 3, and a pair of bearings 4, 5 supporting the rotary shaft 3. The left bearing 4 is a tapered roller bearing and under the pump action of the tapered roller bearing 4, oil introduced to a small diameter side of the taper-roller bearing 4 through an oil supply passage 9 is discharged from a large diameter side of the tapered roller bearing 4.
