<p>An image fixing device of belt nip system excellent in reliability as compared with the prior art. The image fixing device comprises a thermal fixing roll supported rotatably, an endless belt arranged such that the parts of the outer circumferential surfaces of it and the roll come into contact with each other and rotating in accordance with rotation of the roll, and a press member arranged in the endless belt and pressing the belt against the roll from the inner circumferential surface thereof such that the belt and the roll come into surface contact thus forming a belt nip portion for fixing a toner image to a recording sheet at the contact portion of them. The image fixing device is further provided with a sliding sheet arranged between the press member and the inner circumferential surface of the belt to reduce slide resistance appearing between the belt and the press member when the belt rotates, with polyether ether ketone (PEEK) exposed on the belt side surface of the slide sheet.</p> |
