PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera in which the number of functions can be operated by using a smaller number of operation buttons, without impairing ease of operation. SOLUTION: The electronic camera 1, for converting a subject image imaged by a photographic optical system 9 into an electrical signal by using an imaging device 8 and recording the electrical signal, comprises an operation means 2 having a plurality of functions and a control means 21 for setting the functions of the operation means. During photographing, the control means assigns one of the operation means to perform a wide-operation for lowering zoom magnification of the photographic optical system, and assigns the other to perform a tele-operation for raising zoom magnification of the photographic optical system. During reproduction, the control means, by operating one of the operation means, switches a multi-display mode for displaying a collection of arranged images to a list-display mode for listing attribute information of reproduced image, and, by operating the other of the operation means, switches the list-display mode to the multi-display mode.
