PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the simplification of construction and also convenience of an imaging device that can synthesize both an optical image and an infrared image of a subject.

SOLUTION: The imaging device includes a visible light source 20 and an exciting light source 22 for exciting fluorescence material as a light source 6 used for a subject containing infrared fluorescence material. The light from a subject enters a CCD image sensor 12 through an optical filter 10. The optical filter 10 cuts out excited light and passes fluorescent light. The transmission rate of the optical filer 10 to visible light is set lower than that to the fluorescent light in order to clearly display an infrared image expressed by weak fluorescent light on an optical image. Sensible for not only visible light but infrared light, the CCD image sensor 12 can output the image signals of a synthesized image by the light from the optical filter 10.
