PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system with a lens module having a plurality of lenses fitted to a lens barrel, which is adaptable to an environmental change such pressure and temperature by avoiding the hermetically sealed state of space between lenses. SOLUTION: In the lens module in which the plurality of lenses 2 and 3 are held by the lens barrel 4 and the space 6 is formed between the lenses, a side groove 16 inclined with respect to a generatrix is formed in at least one of the outer circumferential surface of the lens and the inner circumferential surface of the lens barrel and the space leads to the outside of the lens module through the side groove.
