1. A method comprising:
providing a performance system, the performance system including a treadmill; providing a sensor for measuring a first parameter, the first parameter being a physical parameter of the subject being trained and measured by the performance system, wherein the sensor measures an initial measurement of the first parameter; providing a control system for controlling a second parameter, wherein the second parameter is a speed of the treadmill; setting, by the control system, an initial value for the second parameter; determining, by the control system, a range of tolerance surrounding the initial measurement of the first parameter, the range of tolerance being ±2% of a value of the first parameter; controlling, by the control system, the second parameter so that the second parameter is set at a constant, unchanged value; initiating timing, wherein timing is initiated only at a point after the second parameter has been set at the constant, unchanged value; maintaining, by the control system, the second parameter at the constant, unchanged value from the beginning of the training through the end of the training; determining, by the control system, for the training, a point of efficiency of the subject by measuring the first parameter of the subject, the point of efficiency being a length of time wherein a state of accommodation is maintained, the state of accommodation being maintained as long as the subject trains without the value of the first parameter exceeding the range of tolerance, wherein the point of efficiency is determined by maintaining the second parameter at a constant, unchanged value to provide stress on the subject within the range of tolerance surrounding the initial measurement of the first parameter by maintaining the second parameter until just prior to the subject no longer being able to accommodate additional stress and entering a state of inefficiency or exhaustion; and recording the length of time wherein the subject maintained the state of accommodation, the length of time being the duration from the initiating of timing to the point at which the subject entered the state of inefficiency. |
