Tire balancing machine has a motor unit (30) which drives a spindle (22) forming part of an upper clamp which cooperates with a lower clamp to hold a tire for testing. The motor has an annular stator (32) surrounding the top of the spindle and a rotor (33), which is wedged on to the spindle. Independent claims are included for: (1) a tire balancing machine containing a top unit as described above; and (2) a drive unit as described above. |
