A detection circuit and a power supply system are provided to control output voltage by generating a control signal based on input current and a total power amount. A detection circuit(34) is installed in an electronic device(31) and includes a correction voltage generating unit(49), an information generating unit(48), a detection signal generating unit(46), and a control signal generating unit(47). The correction voltage generating unit generates correction voltage according to parasitic resistance of a cable which connects an external power supply(21) and the electronic device. The information generating unit generates corrected power information based on the correction voltage and power information of the external power supply. The detection signal generating unit generates a power detection signal according to a total power amount of the electronic device based on voltage between terminals and voltages of the terminals of a resistor installed on a path of output voltage of the external power supply. The control signal generating unit generates a control signal based on the power detection signal and the corrected power information.
