A method and an apparatus for performing analog to digital conversion using switched capacitors are provided to be efficiently manufactured by easily implementing an analog to digital converter circuit in a CMOS process. An apparatus for performing analog to digital conversion using switched capacitors includes capacitors(138,140,142,144), switches(122,124,126,128), and a latch register(144). The capacitors sequentially performs charging by receiving current from a voltage-current converter(108) and outputs a high level signal to the next capacitor when the capacitor is charged at more than a threshold value. The switches prevent simultaneous charging of the capacitors. The latch register generates and outputs digital signals by receiving output signals of the capacitors.
