POTABLE NAVIGATION DEVICE'S CALLER IDENTIFICATION UNITED METHOD

A method for using a caller identification scheme in a portable navigation device is provided to input or modify information about subscribers stored in an embedded memory through a key board. A portable navigation device includes a telephone line port and an external line connection port. A telephone is connected to the portable navigation device through the telephone line port. An external line from a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) is connected to the external line connection port. A navigation mode is set optionally(710). A manual setting key is input to switch into a CRM mode so that information about subscribers is modified or input(711,712). The navigation mode is maintained if the manual setting key is not input(724). A CID(Caller IDentification) unit detects the phone number of a caller if ringing sound occurs(713).
