<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from feeling unpleasant due to the smell of ozone, during jam processing, when he or she opens the door of an image forming apparatus, for jam processing, in conditions where the ozone accumulated inside the apparatus is not sufficiently removed by an exhaust fan and an ozone filter, when a jam occurs in the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation time of the exhaust fan 715 required for reducing ozone density in the image forming apparatus up to a level where the user does not feel unpleasant by the smell of the ozone is decided after the jam is detected and the user is urged not to perform jam processing work in the apparatus, during the decided rotation time, when the jam occurs in the image forming apparatus.
