PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polypropylenic resin which has a high molecular weight and a large amount of grafted branches, is excellent in mechanical and physical properties, and is particularly excellent in heat resistance, and a method for producing the resin. SOLUTION: The modified polypropylenic resin is produced via the graft copolymerization of (A) a polypropylenic resin and (B) a metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid using (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt. metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid and (C) 0.01-10 pts.wt. organic peroxide relative to (A) 100 pts.wt. polypropylenic resin, wherein a 0.1 to 30 wt.% of a component derived from (B) the metal salt of (meth)acrylic acid is contained.
