The container for a powdered or granular product (12) has a side outlet (14) for the product and a hollow cap (10) that can be rotated to cover or open the outlet. The cap has an inclined wall section (16) that uncovers the outlet when turned towards it, an inner reservoir (13) to hold a measured dose of the product and an opening in its side wall that allows the reservoir to be filled by tipping the container and then discharged through the outlet by rotating the cap through 180 deg so that the opening and outlet are aligned. The cap clips into the neck of the container and can be transferred to a new container when the first one is empty.
