The device (1) has brake shoes (2) provided opposite to each other to both sides of an impeller rim (3), and brake shoe fasteners (4) operatable over a drawing unit (5). The brake shoe fasteners are movably swiveled and held at a frame part of a vehicle over a retainer and coupled with a resetting element that cooperates with the drawing unit. A pivoting catch (9) limiting resetting movement is assigned to each brake shoe fastener. The pivoting catch exhibits a stopper part (10) protruding approximately perpendicularly in a swiveling path of the brake shoe fastener.
