PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin for powder coating, giving a powder coating material to form a baked and cured coating film having excellent principal properties such as coating film strength and surface smoothness. SOLUTION: The invention provides a polyester resin (A) for powder coating obtained by the polycondensation of a polyol component (r) and a polycarboxylic acid component (s) in the presence of at least one kind of titanium-containing catalyst (a) expressed by a specific general formula, and a resin composition for powder coating containing the polyester resin (A) for powder coating and a reactive diluent (B) having an ethylenic unsaturated group.
