PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid jet apparatus which can stir the fluid stored in a fluid vessel only when a particulate included in the fluid in the fluid vessel actually settles. SOLUTION: The fluid jet apparatus includes a recording head 21 which jets a pigment ink comprised of a pigment from nozzles 24 formed at a nozzle formation surface 21a, an ink cartridge in which the pigment ink to be supplied into the recording head 21 is stored, a carriage motor and a lift which stir the pigment ink in the ink cartridge, a settlement detector 35 for detecting that the pigment included in the pigment ink in the ink cartridge settles, and a controller 40 which controls driving of the carriage motor and the lift to stir the pigment ink in the ink cartridge when it is detected by the settlement detector 35 that the pigment included in the pigment ink in the ink cartridge settles.
