PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving steering stability while maintaining the advantages of fittability and weight-reduction. SOLUTION: Two carcass layers 4 obtained by arranging an organic fiber cord f extending in the tire radial direction at a predetermined interval in the tire circumferential direction are extended between left and right bead parts 3. The two carcass layers 4 comprise an inner carcass layer 4A formed by folding the end part 4A1 around a bead core 7 from the tire axial inner side to the tire axial outer side; and an outer carcass layer 4B arranged outside the inner carcass layer 4A and obtained by extending the end part 4B1 to the tire axial inner side of the bead core 7 along the inner carcass layer 4A. The sum S + E of the coefficient of contraction S of the outer carcass layer 4B under the dry heat of the organic fiber cord f and an elongation E thereof when the tension of 2.0 cN/dtex is applied to the organic fiber cord f is 7.5% or less.
