<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and lightweight planar lighting device capable of projecting illuminating light having no brightness variation or reduced brightness variation and projecting a large amount of light while realizing that the planar lighting device is thin and lightweight. <P>SOLUTION: The planar lighting device has a light guide plate, in which it increases its thickness as it separates from the light-incident surface and end face and its shapes at the right and left sides with a joining section of two back faces as an axis are asymmetrical having a flat light projecting surface for projecting planar light, a light-incident surface which is formed on an end edge of the light projecting surface and makes incident light advancing in a direction parallel to the light-incident surface, an end surface formed on a surface opposite to the light projecting surface, and the two back surfaces formed on a surface opposite to the light-incident surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
