PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device in a fluid jet apparatus which prevents action timings of a plurality of parts driven by the same driving source from overlapping, and which can make the driving source relatively small, and to provide the fluid jet apparatus. SOLUTION: A slider 55 which constitutes the maintenance device takes four states of a "state 1" through a "state 4" according to positions in the process of performing its reciprocating linear motion. A cap 41 is arranged at a capping position in the "state 1" and "state 2", and is arranged at a retreat position in the "state 3" and "state 4". A wiper 42 is arranged at a retreat position in the "state 1" through "state 3", and is arranged at a wiping position in the "state 4". Moreover, an atmosphere opening valve 58 is arranged at a valve opening position in the "state 1", and is arranged at a valve closing position in the "state 2" through "state 4".
