PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature core with high reliability in durability and strength, which is used in an axial gap type motor, capable of being easily manufactured even in a three-dimensional shape. SOLUTION: This armature core P including an almost flat plate-shaped back yoke 21 assembled in a roughly vertical position onto a shaft 10 and a plurality of teeth 22 allocated on the plate face of the back yoke 21 circumferentially side by side around the shaft 10, forms a rotor 20 (an armature) by winding a winding 23 around each of the teeth 22. An armature core forming plate Q with a shape in which an extending piece Q2 with the same shape as that of the teeth 22 extends radially from the circumference of a disc portion Q1 with the same shape as that of the back yoke 21 is punched, and then the extending piece Q2 is folded back on the back yoke 21 side to abut against the plate face of the back yoke 21, thereby forming the armature core P.
