ROTARY-LINEAR MOTOR

A rotary-linear motor having a mover (1) provided so as to be rotatable and be movable in the axial direction and also has a stator (3) provided on the outer periphery of the mover (1) so as to be concentric with it with a magnetic gap (2) between them. The mover (1) is formed by arranging magnets (7, 8) in an oblique grid pattern on the outer periphery of a shaft (6) such that each side of adjacent magnets has a different polarity from the side of an adjacent magnet. The stator (3) includes a coil (10) for rotation for rotating the stator (3) and a coil (11) for linear movement for linearly moving the mover (1). The coils (10, 11) are wound so as to be parallel to the direction of a diagonal line of each magnet (7, 8).
