摘要 An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve an opening area ratio of an array substrate, thereby increasing a variation amount of luminescence of etching gas during dry etching and easily detecting a just etching timing by detecting the variation amount. An array substrate(3) has an insulating layer. A counter substrate(4) is disposed so as to face the array substrate. An LC layer is interposed between the array substrate and the counter substrate. An opening pattern(25,26) is formed in the insulating layer located in at least a display region(8) by dry etching. A dummy opening pattern(27) is formed by the dry etching in the insulating layer located in a non-display region(9) and formed to be separate from the opening pattern.
