<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspecting method which enables the total noninvasive inspection of the presence or absence of bacterial infection in a platelet preparation contained in a blood collecting bag. <P>SOLUTION: A near-infrared spectrum of the platelet preparation is measured with time from just after producing the platelet preparation by using a transmission method or an interactance method, without taking the platelet preparation out of the blood collecting bag containing it. Then moment-to-moment changes in spectrums of a bacteria-infected sample and a healthy sample are analyzed by using a chemometrics method, and a moment-to-moment change in the spectrum of an unknown sample is compared with those of the bacteria-infected sample and the healthy sample, thereby determining the presence or absence of the bacteria infection in the unknown sample. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
