A method and a terminal for controlling disposition of messages are provided to enable a sender terminal to send multimedia data to a receiver terminal, and control playback, a position, or a size of the sent multimedia data remotely by receiving permission from the receiver terminal. An MDC(Message Disposition Controller) processor(260) makes a message including multimedia data. A communicator(240) transmits the message through the wireless network. A controller(230) transmits the message to a receiver terminal through the communicator, requests a permission for controlling disposition of the transmitted multimedia data to the receiver terminal, and controls the disposition of the transmitted multimedia data of the receiver terminal by receiving the permission from the receiver terminal. The controller controls playback, a position, and a size of the transmitted multimedia data by using a disposition control message including content disposition, a contents type, and a contents ID.
