A method for preparing polysaccharides from filtrate and mycelia of cultured Agaricus blazei murrill is provided to obtain protein-bound polysaccharides having anti-cancer, immuno-enhancing and blood vessel function-improving effects. A method for preparing protein-bound polysaccharides having anti-cancer activity uses filtrate or mycelia of Himematsutake(Agaricus blazei murrill). Strains of basidiomycetes or artificial or natural variants thereof are used in the method. The strains are cultured by a solid culture method or liquid culture method, preferably under an aerobic condition. The mycelia or filtrate is extracted with an aqueous solvent to obtain protein-bound polysaccharides.
