A laminated piezoelectric element having basis body (10) composed of, alternately superimposed one upon another, internal electrode layers (21,22) and piezoelectric ceramic layers (11), wherein while the internal electrode layers (21,22) are composed mainly of Cu, the piezoelectric ceramic layers (11) are composed mainly of a composite oxide represented by the formula Pb(Ti,Zr)O3, and wherein a metal oxide containing Nb, Sb, Ta or W being a metal element of at least either valence 5 or valence 6 (Nb2O5, Sb2O5, Ta2O5 or WO3) is contained in the piezoelectric ceramic layers (11) so that the concentration thereof is decreased as the distance from the internal electrode layers (21,22) is increased. Thus, there can be realized a laminated piezoelectric element that even when the internal electrode is composed mainly of Cu, permits low-temperature firing while ensuring satisfactory piezoelectric constant. |
