An image forming apparatus is provided to enable a cleaning frame, by which a photoconductive drum is supported, to be moved with the photoconductive drum when the photoconductive drum moves for forming a developing nip, thereby maintaining a predetermined gap between the photoconductive drum and the cleaning blade or between the photoconductive drum and a charging roller. An image forming apparatus includes a main frame(21), a cleaning frame(22), a side plate(26), a support shaft(32), and a support shaft holder(28). The main frame stores toner and has a developing roller and a supply roller in the inside. The cleaning frame is disposed in a side of the main frame, and has a charging roller(33), a photoconductive drum(31), and a cleaning blade(39) in the inside. The side plate is joined to both sides of the main frame and the cleaning frame, and supports the developing roller, the supply roller, the photoconductive roller, and the charging roller installed in each of the main frame and the cleaning frame. The support shaft penetrates the photoconductive drum so as for the photoconductive drum to be supported by the side plate. The support shaft holder is installed in the outside of the side plate, enables the support shaft to adhere closely to the developing roller so that a developing nip can be formed between the photoconductive drum and the developing roller. The support shaft holder is connected to the support shaft. A moving member(23,27) enables the cleaning frame to move so that the cleaning blade moves in a state when a predetermined gap can be maintained between the cleaning blade and the photoconductive drum when the photoconductive drum is moved by the support shaft holder.
