#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves automatically determining airports closer to an actual position of a multi-engine aircraft during detection of an engine failure. A lateral path allowing the aircraft to directly reach the respective airport is determined for each airport. A flight profile is defined along the path for each airport, and predictions relative to the profiles are obtained. The profiles not satisfying preset conditions are identified based on the predictions.
